Our Practice in Lincoln

Dr. Jonathan Knutson is a Doctor of Optometry dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered eye care. He is committed to ongoing professional education and staying current with advances in optometric technology, allowing him to deliver the most up-to-date diagnostic and treatment options for his patients.

Known for his engaging and approachable style, Dr. Knutson strives to make every patient visit comfortable, informative, and enjoyable. He genuinely values patient relationships and places a strong emphasis on the quality of both care and optical products.

Dr. Knutson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1995 and graduated cum laude from the Southern College of Optometry in 1999. He is an active member of both the Nebraska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

In addition to his professional work, Dr. Knutson is involved in his community as a member of Southwood Lutheran Church and serves as Vision Director for Clinic With a Heart.

Outside of the practice, Dr. Knutson enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and the family dogs. He stays active through working in his yard, golfing and playing pickleball. He is a passionate supporter of University of Nebraska athletics.

Isabel Knutson, known by most as Izzy, is an Optometric Technician and Social Media Coordinator at Signature Eye Care. A Lincoln, Nebraska native, Izzy graduated from Lincoln East High School in 2021 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2025. She majored in Biology with a minor in Gerontology.

Izzy is currently a first-year optometry student at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona. She plans to return to Lincoln after graduation to continue serving patients at Signature Eye Care.

Outside of the office and classroom, Izzy enjoys golfing, playing pickleball, hiking, and cheering on college sports. She also loves discovering new coffee and matcha drinks—especially from Starbucks.

Hi, I’m SteaVen, but everyone calls me Stevie!
I was born and raised in Nebraska and eventually made my way to Lincoln, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University. After spending some time in the behavioral health field, I discovered my true passion in optical care and joined Signature Eye Care in 2020. Over the past five years, I’ve grown into a versatile paraoptometric technician with experience in many areas of the practice. Whether I’m adjusting and repairing glasses, assisting patients in the clinic, or supporting our team behind the scenes, I love being part of a place that values learning, teamwork, and patient relationships. Helping people see their best — and feel comfortable and confident in their eyewear — is truly my favorite part of the job. Outside the office, I enjoy staying active, traveling, and making memories with my husband, our baby boy, and our crew of fur babies. Life is full, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Hi, I’m Kelsey! I grew up a military brat but Nebraska is where my dad retired.  I lived in Gretna from middle school until I transferred to Doane College (now University), where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and a Minor in Philosophy.  After I graduated, I was a Youth Director for a year in Omaha until I moved to Lincoln in 2013.  I was a before-and-after school supervisor for 7 years (I love working with kids!) before I made the jump into the optical world in 2020. It’s been an amazing experience! I’ve been at SEC since 2022.  My husband and I have three sweet children, Margot, Archer and August, two big dogs, Harvey and Baron, and four cats, Lexi, Mia, Luca and Giuseppe.  It’s quite a zoo in my house! In my free time I like to bake, play with my kids, craft, and play pickleball and disc golf (when I feel like it!).

Hello, my name is Sharia, and I grew up in Alliance, Nebraska. I moved to Lincoln in 2018 to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in animal science. Shortly after graduating, I joined Signature Eye Care as a paraoptometric technician. Over the years, I’ve been cross-trained in many areas of the office, so you can often find me bouncing between my desk, exam rooms, and the lab. My favorite part about working with our amazing team is getting to ensure each patient has the best eye care experience while building genuine relationships along the way. Outside of work, I am always looking for an excuse to go on a new adventure. I have traveled across the US and most recently road-tripped around the Ring Road in Iceland. When I’m not traveling, you can find me hanging out with my friends, exploring plant shops or tackling my latest adventure–being a first time homeowner.

Madelyn Knutson, known as Maddie, is an Optometric Technician and Social Media Coordinator at Signature Eye Care. She is a 2025 graduate of Lincoln East High School and is currently a freshman at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with a Musical Theatre concentration.

Maddie enjoys bringing creativity and energy to both patient care and the practice’s online presence. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, spending time with friends, attending concerts, and discovering new coffee spots and sweet treats—especially Crumbl Cookie.

Hi, my name is Jessica! I was born in Canton, Georgia, but I’ve lived in Nebraska since I was three. My family is from San Juan Ixcoy, Guatemala. I’m a Paraoptometric Technician and Dry Eye Tech here at SEC. I’ve always loved working in the health field and connecting one-on-one with patients, so choosing this career felt like the perfect fit. Since I wear glasses myself, I enjoy relating to my patients and helping them feel comfortable and cared for during their visits. I joined SEC in June 2025, and my favorite part of the job is getting to know our patients, especially my treatment patients! Outside of work, I love spending time with my four cats Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, and Howard and relaxing with my boyfriend, Levi, and my cousin, Galilea. I’m trilingual in Spanish, English, and Q’anjob’al, which helps me connect with even more patients.

Hi I’m Cadi. I was born and raised in southeast Kansas. I graduated high school in 2014 and then went to school for my CNA and Med Aide. I moved to Missouri in 2015 and now building a life in Nebraska since 2021 after moving here for my partner’s job. We just had our first baby in October. I’m passionate about helping people. I have been in the optical field since 2021, but have only been an optician since Jan 2025. I plan to continue growing in healthcare by returning to school for Medical Billing & Coding. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me soaking up time with my partner, our son Declan, friends, and doggo Pork Chop!

Hi, I’m Gabby! I was born and raised in Omaha, Ne. My husband and I recently moved back to Nebraska last year after spending almost five years in Arizona. While we loved our time out there, nothing beats being back home. We have two pets, a dog named Daisy and a cat named Manny, who definitely keep our life entertaining. Outside of work, I love traveling and exploring new places, spending time with friends and family, going to sporting events, writing, bingeing a good tv show, and trying new restaurants. Before joining the team here, I worked as an office manager at a mental health practice. I’ve always had a passion for helping people and love being able to connect with and support others every day.
